I specialize in helping techies become kick-ass leaders and successful founders.
Because being an awesome coder isn’t enough. Not by a long shot.
You need leadership skills to succeed, and the simple truth is that most techies need to work a lot on this. (Don't feel bad, most people do, but techies tend to in particular).
Also, you have to develop an appreciation of product and acumen with product management, as well as ways to snap back into the zone when you keep getting interrupted by the needs of your team.
I know this first-hand because I’ve been through the journey of becoming Tech Lead, Engineering Manager and ultimately Founder.
With startups. With Fortune-50. I've even been through an IPO.
And you know what?
I failed along the way. A lot.
Because I didn’t have quality training, mentorship or coaching. I had to fumble my way through it all, try to figure what went wrong when there was a screw-up and then find ways to develop the skills I needed so it (hopefully) wouldn't happen again.
It was frustrating and full of setbacks.
I’m here to help you avoid those mistakes and, when they happen, recover more quickly than you otherwise would have.
I’m here to save you the time of fumbling for solutions.
I'm here to help you rise through tech and become the leader that's inside you.
The Three Skills You Absolutely Need
Kick-Ass Leadership
First and foremost you’ve got to learn to be a leader. And I’m not talking about making a schedule, running a stand-up or "projecting" authority.
Leadership isn’t about “being in charge”, it’s about articulating a vision and inspiring others to be their absolute best in order to fulfill that vision.
Leadership is finding a way to multiply each team-member’s strengths and supporting each member's weaknesses in order to create something that's more than the sum of its parts.
Leadership is inspiring the kind of loyalty that has team members pushing through hard times and putting in extra hours without you having to ask.
And leadership is about the fun stuff like resolving conflicts, dealing with under-performers and taking the heat when things don't go according to plan.
Because now you’re a leader and the buck stops with you.
Ninja Productivity
If it wasn’t already clear then know this: as a leader you have more to do.
Plus, you’ve got to somehow get it all done while handling a constant stream of interruptions from your team looking for help, guidance, or some emergency.
You don’t have the luxury anymore of putting on some headphones, getting into flow and coding away until the cows come home.
You’ve got to learn how to manage your state to get into the zone with a snap of your fingers.
Product Mastery
This is absolutely crucial if you’re going to be a Founder; it's also pretty valuable to succeed as a Team Lead or Engineering Manager.
Because at the end of the day the product you build is what puts food on your table and the tables of the employees around you.
Building something that you think is cool just isn’t enough.
You’ve got to be able to empathize with customers, anticipate their needs before it even occurs to them, and delight them to a degree that they'll happily hand over their hard-earned money.
You've got to learn some branding, competitive research, and basic marketing.

The risk of inaction...
There's nothing wrong with staying as an SE, but if you want to grow and aren't growing then there's a conflict (what fancy-pants coaches like me call "incongruence"), and an incongruence always, always, always leads to some big problems lurking around the corner.
It starts with being late to a meeting here and missing a deadline there. Later on... Malaise. Short-temperedness. And suddenly...
BOOM.
The work you used to love turns into a grind, and what once gave you joy takes on a whiff of resentment.
And if you don't get it handled?
The end-game is some version of burning out or getting winding up on a "performance improvement plan" (and we both know where those typically lead).
But you know what?... it doesn't have to be that way.
Level up!
Hi. I’m Guy Ardito and I specialize in helping techies like you become kick-ass leaders and successful founders.
And frankly I'm damn good at it.
Because beyond having gone through the journey myself, I'm also trained and certified as a Master Coach, Master of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and High-Peformance Specialist.
We speak the same language and I can get you where you want to go.
